Fashion focus : tropical ou ethnique? - Translated

Même si le beau temps se fait désirer, je suis sûre que vous avez déjà repéré les tendances de la saison que ce soit à travers la presse féminine ou directement dans vos boutiques mode préférées en commençant à constituer votre vestiaire SS15.

Vous avez donc sans doute remarqué les imprimés phares des collections présentés en magasin et sur les podiums, avec en tête le tropical et l’ethnique. Zoom sur ces deux ambiances qui ne manquent pas de personnalité.

Les prints tropicaux viennent s’inscrire dans la continuité des imprimés floraux déjà très présents dans les collections depuis deux saisons. Un mix entre l’identité marquée de l’imprimé hawaïen et la fraîcheur du liberty proposant donc une « revisite » du floral, dans une version souvent plus gaie, plus vitaminée pour des looks pointus.

On remarque cependant deux manières distinctes de l’interpréter par les marques : plus sauvage, comme une photo de paysages avec des couleurs, la plupart du temps, plus sobres. Ou très frais, très printanier, très coloré.

Fashion focus: Are you rather ethnical or tropical ?

Even if warm weather is keeping us waiting, I am sure you have already picked out the fashion trends of the season reading the women’s Press or going shopping in your favourite clothing shops.

You must have noticed the most fashionable prints, at the top of which are the tropical and the ethnical ones

Let’s focus on both these atmospheres which do not lack style.

Let’s begin with the tropical print which is indeed a continuation of the floral trend, that have been present in the collections for two seasons so far.

You can define it as a mix between the strong personality of the Hawaiian print and the freshness of the liberty style which allows a vision of the floral print : a more cheerful, brighter, and more “dynamic” one with hype looks for most cases.

Nevertheless, you may have noticed that the brands have interpreted this trend in two different ways.

Wilder, on the one hand, with most of the time sober/darker colours, or fresher and spring-like looks, with brighter colours.

Nul va s’en dire que cet imprimé très fort est difficile à porter en all-over hors des podiums. Je conseille donc à ma clientèle de choisir une pièce forte : pantalon , top, et de calmer la silhouette avec des pièces plus « basiques », plus habillées comme une veste de tailleur, un jean simple, et dans tous les cas de l’uni pour les adultes. Sauf pour certains imprimés très fondus…
It is obvious that an all-over look which such an intense print is difficult to wear outside catwalks, that is why I advise my clients to chose a main piece and balance the style making an association with more “basic” colours or smarter pieces like a suit jacket or a simple pair of one-coloured jeans, especially for adults.

L’ethnique n’est, quant à lui, pas réellement une nouveauté, car cet imprimé est une fashion occurrence. Il est en revanche traiter différemment d’une saison à l’autre avec, cet été, une atmosphère plus tribale :
Let’s continue with the ethnical print which is not a new trend. Indeed, It is a fashion occurrence. But the designers read it differently from a season to the next. This times, they offer us a tribal version:

Parfois nul besoin de print pour décliner l’ethnique, il suffit de détails pour donner une touche gentiment sauvage à nos looks préféres avec des détails brodés implicites.
Sometimes a print is not needed to include this atmosphere into a collection. Details are enough to give a wild touch to your favourite looks thanks to embroideries for instance.
